I need a team

Postby Daytripper » Thu Jun 23, 2016 2:38 pm

Historically, I follow (root for?) one team in each FCS conference. It is usually a team that I had the opportunity to see play my Bearkats. But, unfortunately, the Bearkats have never played an Ivy League team (that I know of).

So, I would appreciate it if fans of each Ivy team could tell me why I should be the Southeast Texas fan rep of your program.....
I would've gone Ivy but I couldn't get a Whataburger.

Well, since none of the Blue Bloods are taking you up - I'll make my case. You shouldn't pick up an Ivy team, you should grab a Patriot League team.
* Nobody in the PL can effectively give unlimited schollies (cough, cough HYP)
* PL teams are not better than the FCS championship playoffs
* CJ McCollum > Jeremy Lin, by a lot
* "Legacy"? Queen Elizabeth would approve
* Beer.

I will defer to my esteemed colleagues to make the argument as to which PL team to choose.

Well, since a prominent Texas family by the name of Bush has had three generations go to Yale I think you should pick Yale. Yale just played Texas A & M in baseball this season and has played Rice and of course Baylor recently in basketball. Also Calvin Hill of Yale played for the Cowboys.

My daughter, who is five years old, is pushing for Brown because, to quote her......"I like Brown because chocolate is brown."

Here's some more reasons to pick Yale. First you seem to appreciate a good burger. The hamburger was invented in New Haven. Also who needs chocolate when you can get the best pizza in the world in New Haven. Despite what Observer claims, Yale has the third most wins in all of college football, behind only Michigan and Notre Dame, and way ahead of Harvard. Yale also has the most national championships in college football history. Again, way more than Harvard. Finally, Yale pulled off the best prank in football history when they tricked not too smart Harvard fans to display this message at a Yale- Harvard game at Harvard.
