Patriot Leqague Pick 'em - Week 1
Week 1
Everyone is getting anxious so let’s start early. The first week features a mixture of cupcakes and potential blowouts. The two top contenders for League honors are looking to climb tall mountains, while one of the expected cellar dwellers may be playing the most important game on its 2016 schedule.
Friday, September 2nd:
LAFAYETTE @ Central Connecticut
COLGATE @ Syracuse
Saturday, September 3rd:
FORDHAM @ Navy
Monmouth @ LEHIGH
Davidson @ GEORGETOWN
HOLY CROSS @ Morgan State
BUCKNELL @ Marist
GAME OF THE WEEK: LAFAYETTE @ Central Connecticut – A loss in this very winnable opener would give the Pards a solid shot at going 0-5 in a rugged OOC schedule. That would make the hole they dug for themselves last year even deeper. Is this a MUST win? You bet your ever lovin’ backside it is!
NOTE: This thread is double posted – at AGS (http://www.anygivensaturday.com/forumdi ... Discussion) and at the CSJ Message Board Patriot League Forum (viewforum.php?f=39). Feel free to post at either or both - and to make different picks.

Re: Patriot Leqague Pick 'em - Week 1
The yin and yang of PL OOC scheduling from best to cupcake.
Cuse-Gate Not a W for Raiders. Victory for them will be not losing Melville for the year.
Navy Fordham
Good game but dont see Rams stopping Middies.
LU- Monmouth. A W as O carries the day. We'll see whether we have an actual D or a work in progress.
Pards CCSU
Pards should win fairly easily.
This is the question mark game for me. A bad start in game could spiral to a Loss. Pure hedge CCSU.
GU,HC and BU. A cupcake parade all PL Ws.

LAFAYETTE @ Central Connecticut - A pick without conviction, but the Pards need to put the brakes on their slide to oblivion.
COLGATE @ Syracuse - As someone already said, avoid injury and cash the check. No hope for the 'gaters.
FORDHAM @ Navy - The Middies control the ball, the clock and the scoreboard. The Rams big weapons don't really get fired.
Monmouth @ LEHIGH - As usual, the Squawkers are scared silly over this. Listen up, guys - Monmouth won all of five games last year against some pretty mediocre competition. If the BrownStains can't win this one, you should burn the rest of your tickets and find something else to do until Thanksgiving.
Davidson @ GEORGETOWN - The Hoyas don't appear to have much, but they got themselves a laffer to get things started.
HOLY CROSS @ Morgan State - Some are seeing this as competitive. Only if Pujals misses the bus.
BUCKNELL @ Marist - Bucky continues to chow down on cupcakes.

Re: Patriot Leqague Pick 'em - Week 1
My first picks for the year:
Lafayette over CCSU
Syracuse over Colgate
Lehigh over Monmouth
http://www.college-sports-journal.com/1 ... ns-week-1/
http://lehighfootballnation.blogspot.co ... n-and.html
While we're at it, let's knock the rest of these out too.
Navy 41, Fordham 7. This ain't Army.
Georgetown 44, Davidson 3. This will be as ugly as it looks on paper.
Holy Cross 28, Morgan State 13. Bad matchup for the Bears, good tune-up for the Purple People Eaters.
Bucknell 21, Marist 19. A should-be win from the Buckies, but will be a lot closer than people think.
