Harvard vs. Holy Cross

So many questions.

1. Harvard held out their starting WR, RB, and QB in this game. Viviano went the distance vs. Cornell, and didn't show any sign of being hurt AFAIK.

2. Was this just hubris, lack of respect for a Holy Cross team with Pujals hurt? Or were there definitely nicks that needed healing?

3. If Murphy purposefully rested starters for health reasons, wouldn't instituting a bye week help for that, rather than to schedule "scrimmages" in the middle of the year?

Boston Herald reported in general terms injuries to Viviano, Shelton-Mosley and Smith, the QB, top receiver and top running back. It will be interesting to see if all three are back against Princeton this week.

Part of me says, "well, when Lehigh decides to start their backup QB against the Ivies, we score 63 points". But then again, Shafnisky had been legitimately hurt the prior week yet somehow finished the game out. Also, our backup QB, Mayes, had a full complement of weapons available to him. One of the players "held out" by Harvard was a preseason FCS Offensive POY candidate. It's like holding out Antonio Brown - there had better been a damned good reason to hold someone like him out.
